From Warren...
"As an urban designer for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission for the past 2 years, I have relied heavily on pen and ink and watercolor drawings to illustrate conceptual ideas related to my work, which has been primarily involved with the revitalization of some of Charlotte’s older, historic neighborhoods beginning with Dilworth and Plaza/Midwood in 1979. With a disdain for computers, because they keep you inside, away from people, I like to walk the streets of the neighborhoods in which I am working, to observe, meet people, and imagine possibilities. I write and sketch my ideas on location in my sketchbook/journals, having filled a shelf full in the last two decades. Many of the ideas and sketches get further developed and may become a key recommendation for a particular neighborhood, while others were just fleeting thoughts, captured quickly on paper, and quickly forgotten."
