The idea and the support gave me the opportunity to
get a good start in my new career in real estate. It is one I have enjoyed for almost
sixteen years now. Because of a strong repeat and referral business, I had the time to
develop a website for AtHomeCharlotte.com.
Because of the very bright, perceptive and inquisitive client base I am blessed to have, I
could listen for what the consumer wants, the sellers and buyers need. I am grateful to my
clients for their confidence in my professionalism and willingness to share their
perceptions.
These same clients gave me food for thought as I hosted a radio talk
show and then went on to produce 60 television programs for Time Warner over a 5 year span
called "Real Estate Today". Again, these programs were produced with an ear and
an eye for the consumer. In addition, many of the shows introduced new people and new
places or old favorites and special haunts. Again I had the support of clients and
friends.
Real Estate Today featured Jesse Campbell of Campbells
Nursery, Wanda Montgomery of the African American Cultural Center, TJ Reddy, artist, Mary
Kratt, writer, Dan Morrell, Historian, Sammy Koeningsberg, Organic Farmer, Shirley Fulton
and Wesley Heights, One Voice Chorus, Bob Reid and his Bees, Selwyn Natural Food Market
and Carl Carlsburg, Veterinarian Jim Schacht, Horse and People Chiropractor, Susan
Chandler, Tax Advisor, Marilyn Shapiro, and a parade of inspectors, attorneys,
remodelers,
and people involved in the planning and caring for our community and in the real estate
business. Time Warner assigned a mobile crew and staff to go on location with The Real
Estate LadyŽ and it was a community service I loved doing.
Heading for the Internet seemed a natural progression. I have a deep
fascination for the media, love photography ( hence the 4000 photos on the site), love
learning about Charlotte and sharing the information, and love real estate. I earned my
Brokers license two years after I started in the business, became a Broker in South
Carolina as well, earned my Graduate Realtor Institute and Certified Residential
Specialist designations early on and have always exceeded the requirements for Continuing
Professional Education.
I have become enamored with the new technology to the extent that I
have taken more than several classes and courses in software and hardware.
Central Piedmont Community College and Queens
College see me often at their doors.
I hope that the site, www.athomecharlotte.com reflects the energy and passion I have for my
hometown, Charlotte, and my profession as a real estate broker. Again, I am grateful to my
clients and friends.
So what does all this mean if you
are really in the market to buy or to sell? What do I have to offer you? Experience, yes.
Education, yes. Know-how and savvy, yes.
Techno-skills, yes. Negotiating success, yes. More importantly, listening to what you and
your familys concerns and
to what
my intuition tells me. These work for both buyers and sellers
and what about
listings?
Well, as a broker I can assist a
buyer with any property listed in the region. After all, it makes sense to select your
broker first and then work together to find just the right home for you and your family. I
can help you with anyone of the 21,000+ listings in the
regional market.
