On the way to Davidson or Lake Norman, try Old Statesville Road to acquaint yourself with the small towns and good neighbors of Charlotte.

In between Huntersville and Davidson, 
lies the small town of Cornelius, 
which was established at the end 
of the 19^th century as a textile town 
and named
 for the principal stockholder 
of the local mill.
The town has spread towards the lake.
Density is a key word for traffic.
Touring the town, 
one finds a large new town hall, 
and a shopping center 
amidst the older buildings. 
The jewel for sure is the tiny park 
across from the police station 
adjacent to the railroad tracks.
