In a three story building, could
there be flats in design and/or townhouses?
Or both?
I first discovered this innovation when researching Forest Ridge years
ago. There are flats sometimes on the first floor with a foyer, and stairs
leading then to a two or three story larger unit. More of these are found
at Lake Norman than in the city.
Here's Forest Ridge.

1.Mid-Rise. In our database, we define Mid-Rise as three to
four-five stories. I note this on our data sheets. |
|
2.One curious feature about many of the three story complexes: they
have wooden staircases and I often note this on feature sheets. |

Answer to Condo CanDo riddle. Yes. A three
story building could have a flat on the first level with a two story
unit above the flat. Forest Ridge has this arrangement in some
buildings as does 400 North Church Street...what you see may not be
what you get. With condominiums, we cannot assume anything. |
