Jan Whitesell is the excellent mapmaker for The
Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Commission.

Jan guided us through the selection of maps while helping us
become acquainted with graphic software and applications.

In the process she became a friend.

We thank her for the introduction to Arc Explorer and everyone
at the Government Center we met to help us on our way.

v       Earned a BS degree in Geography from UNC Charlotte in 1993.

v       Earned an MA degree in Geography from UNC Charlotte in 1996.

v       Received Outstanding Senior Award at UNC Charlotte in 1993.

v       Received Taylor Book Award for best graduate research paper in 1994.

v       Received American Planning Association Student Project Award in 1995.

v       Won GIS Day Poster Contest in 1999.

v       Map on display at H. Alexander Homesite in Charlotte and part of the
permanent collection in the Library of Congress.
